Welcome to Cardiocare’s World Diabetes Day 2023 campaign! This year, our focus is on “Access to Diabetes Care.” We want to make sure you have all the information you need about diabetes, especially because it’s a chronic disease.

What is DIabetes?
Diabetes is a long-lasting health condition, like a friend that stays with you for life. It’s not like a short-term illness that you can take medicine for once and then forget about. Instead, it’s something you’ll need to manage every day.
Imagine it like this: Your body has a special job of keeping the amount of sugar in your blood just right, like a chef who balances the ingredients in a recipe. In diabetes, this balance is a little off. Your body might not have enough of the special helper (insulin) or your cells might not use it well. So, the sugar in your blood can get too high.
Needing to Pee Often
Pay attention to changes in frequency, color, or consistency of urine. t's like your body's way of saying, "I have too much sugar, let's get rid of some."
Feeling Extra Thirsty or Hungry:
Your body might be trying to tell you it needs help.
Fatigue and Weakness:
Think of it as a signal to check how your body's doing.
Blurry Vision
Sometimes, your eyes can tell you when things aren't right.
Why One-Off Treatment Won't Work
Is there a One time Treatment for Diabetes?
Imagine if you had a garden, and you needed to water the plants regularly to keep them healthy. If you gave them water just once and then forgot, they’d start to wither.
Diabetes is a bit like that. You can’t just take medicine once, and everything will be fine forever. You need to watch your blood sugar levels, eat the right foods, and sometimes take medicine as prescribed, just like watering your plants regularly.
